State accuses Lana Barnes of bilking Medicaid for home care of dying spouse.
I've heard of some awful cases in which women faced impoverishment after the death of a husband; particularly if they had never worked themselves. I know of a few elderly women who in fact committed suicide in such circumstances. I wonder if Mrs. Barnes were facing such a dilemma. Does anyone have more information on this sort of thing?
I hope she didn't want to keep him alive for the money.

A lawyer actually put forward this cockamamie argument? By that logic, if I rob a bank, I can't be tried for it if I return the money.
