Lots of water line breaks lately. Maybe a bit of investment is overdue? I mean actual investment, where you spend today's dollars on things that will benefit everybody in the future; not the casino gambling sprees people are accustomed to thinking of as investment in today's broken financial environment.

Lowertown...Wall was flooded, now has 1/2 lane and 5th is full of police and workers. I'd avoid it, at 12:30am water like a river was rushing toward the river down Wall

All of downtown is impacted, with warnings to not drink/use the water for cooking and teeth brushing, etc, according to the city of St Paul's website. West 7th is impacted too though I'm not sure how far along the lines. Mancinis was impacted by a second water main break so at least that far. The Pioneer Press has MUCH more coverage; they covered it as soon as it happened (understandably so-they're a block or two away from the break).

It should also be reported that residents and businesses in downtown, west 7th, and west end neighborhoods have been advised by the St. Paul Regional Water Service not to drink their tap water for the next 24 hours.

Maybe we can spend some money fighting the Infrastructure Repair War over here and stop fighting it over there. Many hundreds of billions $$$ spent in Iraq would've fixed a lot of infrastructure here. Talk about jobs...

I find it cosmically humorous about the location of both of our recent water line breaks. The one in Mpls was near the Federal Reserve. This one is by Wall Street. Coincidence?
