Given your praise of the Virtuwell program - are you aware that this program is not covered by Medicare? After being able to e-mail my Dr. for several years with no charge I was surprised to find that I was charged $40 when I wrote to her about a simple follow-up question about medication. The explanation is that the Virtuwell program is not covered by Medicare so also not covered by my supplement. A follow-up within 7 days of an office visit is free but after that there is a charge. Since my co-pay at Healthpartners is $15 this program makes no sense for Medicare patients. I have informed Healthpartners that I will not use the program for $40 and will, instead, make an office appointment for $15. This will cost Healthpartners and Medicare more money but is a better fit for my budget. There are still some kinks in the program
