Minnesota is one of two states launching volunteer program.
When you're young, the best thing you have to give the world is your energy. One of the great mistakes the US (and most of the world) has made is not channeling the energy of its youth towards positive change.
unicorn4711, Respectfully. 1 - Research year over year have clearly shown the U.S. leads the world in philanthrpy, community service and volunteerism. 2 - I concur with President Clinton in the final weeks of his Presidency. Paraphrasing, "I'm convinced that capitailsm is the path needed to elevate the world out of poverty as it will provide the funds necessary for education, food, drinking water, etc." Kids volunteering is a noble idea. However, kids need to focus on education so as to be the inventors of ways to generate the revenue necessary to do things. In other words, there is a need for more than rally's with so-called celbraties as those things sound and feel good but do not deliver what is necessary to bring forth solutions.
