I see Obama is back to his usual tactics of blaming everyone but himself for this mess. Obama has added over six trillion dollars to our deficit in less than four years. Obama was at the helm when our nation had it's first credit downgrade. Obama has yet to offer a budget. Under Obama, the government takes in about 3 billion dollars per day. Under Obama the government spends about 11 billion dollars per day. Blame all you want, but it's all Obama and eventually, even you Obama apologists will run out of others to blame for HIS policies and their results.

So Obama's balanced approach is that the only spending cuts that should be made are those that will raise taxes? Doesn't sound very balanced to me.

They include layoffs or furloughs of "hundreds of thousands" of federal workers, **************** In 2009 the administraion added 224,000 federal workers to the workforces so what is the issue it would be back to the size government that the bush administraion had.

How come in 2007 with a federal Spending of $2.7T we were able to test for HIV, provide meals on wheels, run head start programs, treat Mentally ill patients and not layoff workers , etc...etc...etc............. Another Dooms Day , the Sky is falling shout from the White House!

These cuts are what the republicans want and I say "give them what they want" and we'll see what happens in 2014 elections.

martin64, who cares about 2014 the Republicans will be crushed in 2014 and 2016, why not do whats fiscally right. After the takers have run this country into a 30 trillion deficit and the rich can pay no more and the Government is on the brink of collapse, then maybe the GOP will have a chance.
