NEW ORLEANS - The company that supplied electricity to the Super Bowl says the blackout that halted the big game was caused by a device it installed specially to prevent a power failure.

Oh, I see. The elec co installed a faulty device. So that's the elec co's fault? Maybe they should install good devices. That just doesn't make sense?

I watched the game, I thought for sure they would blame it on George Bush!

No way New Orleans gets another SB in 2018! Especially when it's going to be right here in the new Vikings stadium...right Roger?!

I still think they need to investigate the Buffalo Wild WIngs franchises in San Francisco. By the way, next year the Super Bowl is sponsered by Motel 6. "We'll leave the lights on for you."

How convenient. I don't believe it. It's more likely that someone with money on the game was trying to manipulate the outcome.

Hmmm... so New Orleans fails to plan for a major flood, eventhough; they are right on the coast and below sea level and then they fail to plan for a simple power outage by having generators ready to take over in case of a power outage and yet the NFL Commish has no issues with that? Whatever....

I do live events in New Orleans every few years. Power in that city has always been a disaster, along with just about everything else we can rely on here. As much as I like to complain about Minneapolis, at least stuff more or less works here. Not so in many other places, and New Orleans is among the worst in America. In fact, one popular expression is that it's very convenient to work in New Orleans, because it's so close to the US. It doesn't surprise me at all that the utility, trying to prevent a blackout, caused one.
