I am a realtor and I insist to all of my clients that they have a radon test during their inspection period. It is very easy to remediate and take care of.

My prayers are with this man and his family. My wife mentions radon from time to time, but she's a worrier and I thought it was very unlikely. Now I know better. I bet this story will prompt a lot of people to test their homes and get any necessary remediation. I'm going to pick up a kit at Menard's tomorrow.

There needs to be more education about this. Also I think a lot of people don't get the test because they fear their house will be labeled a radon house and they won't be able to sell it in the future. That and they will be required to get a lot of expensive repairs to their house.

My wife works for the state and was given a sampling kit 2 years ago. Luckily we had a low rating.
