In case you wee thinking about starting to relax, and carry on the strib just wanted to.... FEAR!!! BOOOO! Be afraid. Constantly afraid people is the new norm. Get used to it, chickens.

After 5 weeks of battling the flu and then pneumonia, I would encourage those who have not gotten the flu yet to take all the neccesary precations to avoid it. Thank you Strib. for the update.

The public has a short memory of health offical's fearmonering. Every year, they quote the statistic of "4,000 to 49,000 yearly flu deaths". We've heard over and over that 2012-2013 is the worst flu season in recent memory and the deaths will be at the top of the scale. Minnesota has almost 2% of the US population, so we should see up to 860 deaths. Will we? No, but next year, we'll repeat the cycle all over again.....
