Over-the-air TV networks are sort of in the same position as USPS, though not as dire perhaps. The only way they can compete against cable, which readily provides male viewers with more open levels of female exposure, is to appeal to provincial older fogeys who are just one step below the Taliban in terms of what they consider proper amount of such exposure. Ironically, America's Upper Midwest is probably the world's greatest bastion of such provincialism.
This stuff has gone 'way over the top. During the Super Bowl halftime show, my 7 year old grandson wondered "why did Beyonce come out with just her underwear on?" From the mouths of babes, indeed....
Good. I'm 35, I'm not old, religious, or conservative, as i'm sure to be labeled. I however just actually have common sense and some appreciation for respectful displays and norms. There is such a thing as progression and then there is this thing called - Idiocracy a fictional movie that is actually how America is headed in real life. Standards and Morals, almost gone from society.
Well, I guess there's no reason for me to watch now.
I will LOVE watching them this year to see what kind of by-pass clothing people wear. I bet we will see a bunch of men without shirts (it only says female breasts), and women who are...flamboyantly over the top of fashion in their choices to wear, i.e. what's her names meat dress and hat.
How many female's who will be attentending this gig on Sunday may have already purchased their gowns ETC: sometime ago and now will have to scramble now to get a proper gunny sack to put on?
A certain culture in the world has an answer for this issue..............it's called a burqa! Though this may show a little too much ankle for CBS.
This from the network that has aired Two and a Half Men for years? Pahleeze.
It might be fun to watch the Grammys this year to see how all the "talent" tries to get around this dress code. I say good for you CBS, it's about time someone tried to teach these people some manners.
What a buzzkill..thanks CBS
