The southern border seems about as secure as it will ever be. Should we be more concerned about Canada now?

The issue of Border Security would be a much easier issue to handle if we eliminated the reasons that most people come here illegally. Stop giving them welfare, stop employeeing them illegally, stop educating them, stop giving them free healthcare! If not for that, there would be very little reason to come here. That being said, we need to increase the number of (low skill) worker visas issued each year.

You had me all ready to give you a big thumbs up sgtbuzzcut, until your last sentence. Please explain why you think we need to bring in more unskilled, low wage labor into this country? As if 12 million illegals already here, and a million more legal immigants EVERY YEAR isn't enough?! How many more immigrants can this country absorb until it finally collapses into a 3rd world cesspool??

Trust me, sgtbuzzcut, no one comes to the U.S. from Canada for welfare and healthcare. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

The problem with Canada is they will give a passport to just about anyone.

****The problem with Canada is they will give a passport to just about anyone.*** And the U.S. doesn't? Our country has a visa lottery for God's sake. These increased security measures are based on nothing but government paranoia and do nothing but create more federal workers while draining our treasury dry.

Canadians come to the US in the winter for the sun, spend their money in Florida/Arizona/Texas and go home. They have no intention of staying. Why would they? Other than warmer winter weather, we have nothing they require.

Canada has issues with border security too.The issue is guns.Handguns and pepper spray are both illegal to bring into Canada. There is a large sign on the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit warning Americans not to bring handguns into Canada; they may be subject to arrest.

Border security is an issue everywhere. The northern border is less an issue of illegal labor acrossing, but dangerous articles. terrorists don't try crossing at the most heavily watched locations which to me says any place other than the southern border is the place they will try entering if they do. "North" Which doesn't even begin to address airports and seaports or coasts, misses the mark for real concern...not that the illegal labor of the south shouldn't be a concern.
