As opposed to how well it's going now taking in 3 billion per day yet spending 11 billion? Let's take a chance, Leon and see what happens if we actually learn to live within our means.

What progressives fail to acknowledge is the "absolute" first role of the federal government is to protect its citizens from invasion both foreign and domestic. Thus fiduciary responsibility for defense spending is a must, the U.S. cannot take backward steps to protect the country. China, the former U.S.S.R. and many terrorists groups today can extract by force soldiers. The U.S. has a significant lead in defense that will ensure safety while protecting lives (no draft). Finally, the bulk of today's defense spending is in the area of health costs and benefits..
