Green rivers, vanilla or cherry phosphates, real cherry, chocolate, or vanilla cokes - yum. All for a dime. Guess that dates me... Great memories of soda fountains and local drug stores.

Real businesses run by real families who really care about the communities they serve. That's the businesses we should be supporting, instead of groveling at the feet of mega-corps.

Love old-fashioned soda fountains, including Grandma Ellie's in Amery, WI. A must-visit place when my Mom visits from New Jersey. When he visited, my brother-in-law taught the soda jerks how to make a New York-style egg cream. Delicious.
