As in Burnsville case, West St. Paul won't disclose why she quit.

This is just wrong - rewarding someone for failure or refusal or incompetence in doing their job. We see this all to often in the public sector. It is disgusting.

This is insanity! How many examples of these tax funded payouts does this make? You would think these brain wizards would include verbiage in the contracts that would eliminate payouts for certain behaviors. I guess since it's not their money, it's not important to them but it sure does upset me. Idiots.

Wherever this superintendent has been, she has caused a multitude of problems for students and staff. She has a take no prisoner attitude, and it has to be her way. There is no room for compromise or discussion. Her scorched earth attitudes caused problems in Prior Lake, Bloomington and now in West St. Paul. If the board has any sense at all, they will send that mean spirited person packing!

Superintendent or principal? The principal quit due to a fight with sup? Sounds interesting.

Six months ago the taxpayers foolishly awarded these people the highest school tax levy allowable by law. They said they needed it for the kids....they always say that. Now they pay someone more than what most of us make in year not to work. I hope all of you who voted yes are really happy today because now you are seeing how the money is REALLY spent. My children went to school in this district and I've always voted no because my kids always have had more options and better facilities than anyone I knew in my childhood ever had in the same district. No to mention I can't stand how "Big Education" exploits children and their failing test scores to line their pockets with huge compensation packages, and as we see here ridiculously handsome golden parachutes. These people are no different from Wall Street d-bags, in fact they are worse, they hide behind our children.....

Not only is this unethically wrong, it is also accountability wrong because this is a PUBLIC job being paid with PUBLIC money. We taxpayers are entitled to know what our public officials are doing with OUR tax money.

If the state leaders are listening: Fix the data privacy laws in this state. How many times do we have to hear someone who gets a buyout, messes up, breaks the law - say "Can't comment due to state data privacy laws." That is being used far too often. If it happens at a public school, involves government officals, and / or public money - we have a right to know. If you don't like that - don't work for a school or other governmental agency.

The school board memebrs who approved this should be required to personally pay the money they gave to the principal.

I think the law was passed last session and Dayton signed it. This case seems to evade the law, but demands follow up. The school cannot hide behind data privacy when it comes to what appears to be a payment of a parachute. Where there is a payment there is a reason.

Remember when public entities were required to adhere to the public record? This is not the country we think it is. Not anymore. Why so secretive, government?
