Jerry, with the season on the line, the Wolves lack three guys: Love and a couple of athletic guards with size. Love will come back and lead us to additional wins, but a backcourt of Rubio, Ridnour, Barea and Shved inspires giddy anticipation for opposing teams. Are the Wolves OK with AK being the only athletic player in the starting five? They shouldn't be. The best thing the Wolves can do now is go easy on Love's return and get a good lottery pick. Trade Ridnour, Shved and Cunningham while their value is decent. Maybe trade DWill too. Change is the only constant for the Wolves right now, and it'll be needed again this offseason.

I know Adelman has trust issues with D Will, but you gotta have him on the floor at the end of that game, either instead of Cunningham, or for someone else. He's not a great option, but one of very few on the team capable of hitting a big shot. The near airball that Cunningham put up only accents the point that he is a very good role player and nothing more. He can hit an open jumper and is a good finisher, but he's definitely not a go to guy at the end of the game. I feel a lot better if that's D Will taking that last shot.....

Having a healthy Rubio and a healthy Love both on the floor will improve everyone's game, especially on offense. The other three players, no matter who they are, will have a lot more easy open shots. Unfortunately we may have to wait until next season for that.

It is unfortunate the StarTribune writers now little about basketball. The Wolves only player who can manufacture his own shot is Barrea. The Wolves only defensive center is Chris Johnson, who was in camp with the Wolves and let go so Amundson can watch the games from the bench instead of on TV. The writer needs to confront the Wolves coaches as to why Chris Johnson is not playing and was not on the team all year. Rubio is working on his shooting mechanics and as a result is now the worst finisher near the basket in the NBA. Rubio's missed layups were the difference in the last loss.

Chase Budinger's name belongs in this conversation. I don't know if he is a go to guy to take the last shot but he would be a nice option. He can also help spread the floor with his 3 point shooting which ranked 20th in the NBA last season. Budinger's outside shooting is really missed by the Wolves.

Instead of wondering who should take the last shot, the Wolves need to find some people to make some shots during the game. This is not a good outside shooting team with Buddinger and Love out. The 4 main guards all shoot below 35% from 3. The size and strength of the Wolves guards is also becoming a serius problem. They are physically overmatched almost every night. Another thing that is troubling is the shooting percentages of the starting PF's of the team this year. At the starting PF postition this year, D-Will is shooting 36% (19 starts), DC 37% (7 starts) and Love 35% (18 starts). DC and D-Will have both been better off the bench and it causes problems when guys who should have high FG%'s have ones that are brutally low. We can certainly say no one has stepped up with Love out at the starting PF position.

Coach you are lossing the game in the first half, try Rubio and Sheved or Barrea or shaved,Barrea. If you are going to loose why not doing something different.

cheito39Feb. 6, 1311:32 AM

When Rubio and were out the team had a better record.

cheito39Feb. 6, 1311:33 AM

I should said Rubio and Love

Why is it a crime to have Rubio and Shved in at the same time? Two guards with size, and one that is better at catching and shooting? Wouldn't Shved benefit from Rubio getting him open shots instead of having to create them himself? Rubio isn't as effective with the first unit because there is nobody to kick to on the perimeter. I can't watch Ridnour anymore. He gives you nothing.
