Konopka summed it up perfectly (ramp it up, turn up the intensity) - if they do that they will be ok.

For a team that just paid millions for star players, a pretty poor effort against an ownerless NHL team thats rumored to be leaving for Seattle any day now.

How about shooting the puck on the net, rather than waiting for the perfect shot---that never comes. There is nothing wrong with scoring off a rebound.

Konopka might not be a 20 goal scorer, he wont be first line material either but what he brings to the Wild that they dont have... LEADERSHIP.. this guy is a leader and will be a huge asset to the Wild as they try to bring up youngsters..

Another concern is how is Josh going to play in his next outing? He is a hell of a nice guy, but looked atrocious the last two appearances. MS treatment/meds probably played a role in that I'm sure. I believe that its Hacket's time. Oh, and I second what a previous poster stated: SHOOT THE PUCK AND STOP WAITING FOR THE PERFECT PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ESPECIALLY ON THE POWERPLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ARRey sez: Like the pairing of Konopka and Granlund. When Konopka arrived he claimed Koivu could now read the paper on the ice... Koivu can take care of himself. It's Granlund who needs the room. Keep Granlund with Konopka.

The old adage (Herb Brooks I think) that "100% of shots not taken won't go in" should be printed in LARGE letters on a poster and hung up in the Wild locker room. Even the most average of shots will find their way into a net once and awhile if they are just taken. Why does this issue of not taking enough shots seem to come up with this team every season no matter who is on the roster? HELLO 2nd,3rd and 4th lines, are you not seeing what your high flying team mate Mr Parise is doing? Please stop showing these goalies so much respect. Fire away!!

Sure hope Coyle pans out because the other two bodies on this side of the Burns trade are not working out too good right now.
