If you have to take a vacation from Facebook, you are using it way too much. It's possible to check it just a few times a day, see what your friends and family are up to, then go do something else. If your life revolves around it, then you have more issues than just too much Facebook. That's just a symptom.

I took a facebook break 5 years ago. I'm still on it. I don't need to know what you had for breakfast, that your dog crapped on the floor, or who you think is "hot".

I took a break 2 years ago and I am still on it. It is too big of a time-consumer for me.

My kids are off Facebook and on to Instagram, Snap Chat and plain old texting. Facebook was a fad and will always be. Some things just flame out.

I can see how people can get hooked with I Phones and Tablets. I have a computer...upstairs. I check it once a week.

I don't need to know what my family and friends are up to through each and every day.

Facebook will become more annoying now that promoted ads from random companies are showing up in news feeds. As the posts people see become less and less relevant then they will become less and less interested. Although there will always be some serious addicts out there.
