fooledmeonce and dvsdan123....locking up gang members sounds like a great idea but are you aware the city does not control the sentences of offenders?. In fact it is the county and state that control what happens to these people. The city has been trying for years to get tougher sentences and more accountability. So, don't blame Minneapolis for the things they can't control.

yup maybe they should start on the north side cleaning up gang violence. Then maybe somebody can explain why my home insurance premiums went up to pay for the storm cleanup in north Minneapolis when they should be paying for their own cleanup and insurance. I guess starting with a bulldozer would work too.

Good luck to the new chief as she attempts to change a culture and department that has been established for a long time. There will be a LOT of pushback.
