So the Democratic president puts forth a member of the GOP for this important position. He stayed away from politics yet is still being fought. I guess when you hate a person as much as they hate the president, they have no problem rejecting one of their own. I guess the prez could always nominate a dem, we all know how much the GOP would like that.

Considering the US policy toward Iran is completely absurd being "clueless" on said policy should be seen as an asset for Hagel.
Who is Sen Lindsey Graham? A senator from South Carolina? What stake does he have in this debate? Probably the most military bases of any state in the union. What is his motive? Keep the money flowing into South Carolina by waging war with Iran. I can smell another $10T added to our present Iraq/Afghan debt. McCain has absolutely no experience in foreign relations so his opinion matters not
