The Wild traded Darroll Powe and minor-leaguer Nick Palmieri to the New York Rangers for rugged veteran forward Mike Rupp.

Can you say P-A-N-I-C? It doesn't look good when Rupp's career highlight is that he took winning shots in a decisive Stanley Cup game 9 years ago, when he was 24 years old, and not 33, and not being used at all by the Rangers, and oh, the Wild give up two players for him. How about finding good younger players, Fletch?

Wake me up when the headline reads "seeking finishers and goal scorers, Wild deals for___"

Russo, Rupp=Chris Simon all over again. The only difference is, this time we know it will be the first of a few trades to shake things up with the next one likely being Kassian who you keep hinting at is going to be moved. We all know Setoguchi is going to be dealt, just a matter of where and when. Likely Pittsburgh as you once hinted at. Might as well, he like Powe wasn't adding anything to this team, just taking up space and minutes away from someone else who might actually do something."Powe, 27, was second among NHL forwards last season with 91 blocked shots and brought energy to the Wild". 'brought energy' is just a bland, baseless compliment that could be said about any player in any sport on any team. What it really means is he provided a breather when the real players had to get off the ice or make a shift change. What does 'bring energy' even mean? Half the time he was on the ice you wouldn't even know it as his name was hardly ever called by the announcers. I watched the St Louis and Chicago games on NBC Sports and could probably list each time they said his name. Half the time you didn't even know he was out there, and to think we gave up a 3rd round pick for him just two years ago?! As for all these so-called tough guys like Rupp, why don't we ever see them dropping the gloves and actually fighting like Toronto, Philadelphia, the Rangers, and Devils always get footage of doing? Again, in those two games, I didn't see any major fighting. When Granlund got boarded against Chicago and Frolik? Nothing. We are a soft team. If there was ever a time to get in a fight it was the "rivalry night" on NBC Sports with all the old North Stars footage and montages they were showing. A perfect tribute would have been to beat down Kane for his showmanship the last time we played, yet we did nothing just like we always do.
