It was similar to the smoking ban in MN, when everyone went to ND as an alternative. Universal background checks with no loopholes, on a nation wide basis. A 100% ban would create a National Black market that would spawn Chicago violence Nation wide. Criminals will"always" find a firearm. Just like the drug war, Illegal drugs are not purchased over the counter, But a person can find it on most street corners of any city!

Thanks for summing up the absurdity of the arguments from the NRA veiwpoint. It's true that after Columbine, LaPerrier was heavily pushing for gun registration and background checks to create national databases, then has faught for just the opposite the whole time after that. Knowing both sides of this issue, I have come to one basic conclusion. We've tried it the foolish NRA way and the result is huge numbers of death and murder for too long. Time to try something else.
