Why MN? He should be holding his proposals in Chicago! They have there"fair share" of violence.

Obama will go after legal gun holders and permit holders first. He knows where the problem neighbor hoods are because they are well documented by the police. If he really wanted to stop violence why is he looking in the wrong places? Just another reason why large government will fail this country! Another sad day in America! I will be shopping for my first gun today, before it's to late.

Why Minneapolis and not Chicago. 507 homocides last year in Chicago last year. So far for January was 42 homocides. Is he trying to make Minneapolis another Chicago?

Americans shouldn’t be fooled by gun control plans that address problems that exist only in the minds of politicians. The best safeguards against crime are capable law enforcement officers and an effective criminal justice system. When the cops can’t get there in their 10 minute time window, the next best thing is having a gun for self-defense. If the majority of (funded) police departments around here deem that to protect the police officer in the line of duty they should carry a handgun with a high-cap magazine and an AR-15 with a 30-round magazine then I see no reason why a law-abiding citizen can't have the same weapons to protect themselves and family. We are the first responders to violent acts by criminals choosing to attack me or my family. You can live in never-never land but when you need the Police or Paramedics it will seem like a lifetime until they arrive. Drugs and Drug trafficking is the number one reason there are so many murders in this country. Guns and high-cap magazines are not the problem. I'll support the requirement that all requires all states to have to use the NICS and that the information on it is updated more easily then it is now. The VT shooter killed 32 people using a .22 handgun with a 10-round magazine and a Glock 17 9MM with 17-round magazine and the reason so many died was the background check system failed to prevent him from buying a gun. Also it took forever for the police to respond and figure out what was happening even when people were being shot on the other side of the campus. Gun registration; just ask Canada why they scrapped it in 2012 after a billion dollars spent and not one crime solved. I don't even care if they made high-cap magazines and certain bulk ammo purchases (500 round or more) part of a background check before you can buy. If that makes you feel comfortable in your locked security controlled home in the burbs. I along with everyone I know have nothing to hide and they can check all they want.

Gun control, immigration, why doesn't he just stay in Washington and work on the economy OH maybe because he doesn't have a clue how to fix it.

Magic beans anyone? Rather than insulting Minnesota with attempted civil rights abuse proposals, I'd like to see the president focus on mental health coverage as part of his mandatory national healthcare proposal.

"Obama launches campaign..." -- The headline says it all. This is all this guy can do.

marcodevichFeb. 4, 13 7:20 AM

Obama feels comfortable discussing Gun control with liberals in places like Minneapolis. Maybe he should go next to see Sheriff Joe down in Arizona to hear the "other side".

kebu80Feb. 4, 13 7:22 AM

Campaign and golf that is all this guy has done since being in office. Work on economy? Are you kidding me?

Obama launches campaign---perhaps he should launch governing. But then it is difficult to do something you know nothing about.
