Take a player out of the next 4 quarters if he has a helmet to helmet hit, seems like that would eliminate much of it. A 15 yard penalty and a pocket change fine does nothing to eliminate them.

I agree with what Mike Ditka said about the Helmet to Helmet issue, "put em back in Leather Helmets, see if they lead with there heads then?" He's right if people know there limitations they won't take the risk. Instead we keep coming up with newer and fancier helmets and tell the players "this helmet is the greates and state of the art" and the player thinks he can still lead with his head because he's been told he is invinsible. If they keep going down this road, it's gonna become "Flag-Football". The NFL should never have gotten into the business of providing health care either, because it's gonna dictate how the game is played. The Players make millions, go get your own healthcare.

Wanna clean it up? Then take the money out of the equation. This is a multi-billion dollar industry, folks. What matters are "W"s and those involved in chasing those "W"s are going to do whatever it takes to get them. Wins = dollars. D'ya really think the owners and sponsors care about things like concussions, broken bones, Parkinson's and drastically shortened lives? Nope. Neither do the guys who are chasing millions in the four or so years before their body cashes it in. We pay and they play. For billions. And such trivialities as life-changing injuries matter not at all.

What comes next? Doesn't matter what we think. The money machine that is the nfl will do what ever it takes to make billions. What ever the players and fans think means nothing.

Who are we kidding, these players are present day Gladiators. Doesn't take a genius to know the risks. Don't want the risk, don't play. Take your law suits and stick them. Pay the families with the millions the highest paid make.
