Good article until the end when you reverted to talking about something other than the team's great season. The whole article is about the Gophers Women's team end it there too! Distracts from the story.

This team and its players is the most amazing hockey story this year. Continued good luck to them as they forge ahead with that incredible streak.

Nice article, this team deserves all the credit they can get. They have excelled in spite of all the weight of all the pre-season expectations. No excuses, they just put their best effort out every time they step on the ice.

Ohhh to be young again, and be a young hockey star playing in Finland. .............. You know, Laura Haldorson, the former Gophers womens hockey coach, who did the color commentary for the Big Ten Network yesterday, made a pretty astute observation. She said the Gophers have had really strong 3rd periods during this entire winning streak because they have 4 very talented lines, and they aren't afraid to use all 4 of them. Other teams can usually only go with 3 lines, of which 2 are high quality. By the 3rd period, all of the Gophers opponents are running out of gas, while the gophers top 2 lines are still fresh. She said that Brad Frost will then go with only his top 3 lines in the third period, which really steps up the pressure on the other team just when they're getting tired. This was a great observation on Laura's part, and if you look at the 3rd period yesterday, as well as every other game they played this year, the results are really obvious.

Agree it was a good article that had a pretty lame ending mr reusse. I hope you take the time to ask the wild rookie about the star Finish goaltender at the University of Minnesota who may be one of the best in the world. And encourage he & his teammates to check out one of their games some time. This Gopher Women's hockey team is special and a joy to watch. Best of luck to this team. They do the University & the Minnesota sports scene proud.

Kessel is averaging over three points per game. Wayne Gretzky in the greatest year in NHL history couldn't even muster two (1.921). Kessel should be Sports Illustrated's, ESPN's, and everyone else's Sportsmen(sic) of the Year. What the WOMEN Gophers are doing should be on the front page of the Tribune everyday.
