I understand the use of rifles and shotguns in a rural, hunting atmosphere. But gun sellers like this lose me when they escalate "recreational" shooting to include .50-cals and anti-tank munitions and all the rest of that ultra high-powered weaponry. It veers away from tradition then and just gets weird. "Come with me son, let's go blow up a Chevy like Granddad used to do."

A great article about a great American family. My father bought a used single shot 20 ga. shotgun from Cap back in 1947. When I was a youngster being taught to handle firearms, I managed to chip the stock. My dad eventually brought it back to Ahlmans in about 1980 and told them he needed some 'warranty work' done. They all laughed but managed to replace the stock, under warranty. Ahlmans is a iconic MN business, congrats to them. BTW, what's wrong with firing a large caliber firearm under the watchful eye of a supervisor?

"Another pro gun column by Mr. Anderson. His byline should be written by NRA". Anderson is one of the couple of writers at the Strib who are not totally sucked into the Liberalthink that permeates this paper.

Buzzcut, the 2nd Amendment does not just apply to rural hunters, nor is it in reference to hunting alone. Too many people do not understand the purpose of the 2nd Amendment or they come up with some inane argument about how silly it is to resist against a government armed like ours. Great nations decay from within, not from outside pressures.
