It is a shame that they cannot make peace with each other. Musicians earn more than they are making...just like waitresses and teachers. Please let us all move ahead.

The encore piece was "Finlandia", also by Sibelius. The concert last night was an extraordinary experience. It was wonderful to see and hear Osmo and our wonderful musicians together again. Before and after the concert, the musicians were very engaged with the crowd, expressing their thanks for our support. The audience responded with many, many standing ovations, before the orchestra even began to play. It was a mutual lovefest, to be sure. Here's hoping the two sides can come to a mutually-agreeable solution, so we can all look forward to more wonderful evenings with our beloved Minnesota Orchestra!

Seeing the Convention Center packed, and the huge response from the audience, how can anyone claim the necessary public support isn't there?

I heard more than a few people in the lobby afterwards talking about the sheer passion poured into the Finlandia encore...it spoke volumes for those who have ears. What an evening.

Beautiful program, spectacular orchestra. This group deserves the Grammy win! We were so pleased to see Osmo take the podium to join this wonderful group of talented musicians. Though intended to be a bi-partisan event, I think we can all seel that Osmo is backing his musicians. "Politic in his remarks" = gag order in his contract. End this ridiculous lock out and get back to making more music!
