Really, if they did not want students to share answers then the faculty members giving the test should have used a little more of their own time and administered the test in a classroom or lecture hall. I am all for acedemic integrity, but OPEN BOOK, TAKE HOME exams are always going to have students collaborating to some extent, the same way they might when discussing or helping each other with a paper or other homework. It doesn't even make sense that it would not be expected. Work that is supposed to be completely individually done should stay in the classroom.
