Former Viking Bryant McKinnie isn't tempted by all New Orleans has to offer, not with the Ravens in the Super Bowl.

Sure hope he has texted that GENIUS Leslie Frazier thanking him for his release because he was no longer an elite lineman. Guess this is the only way us long suffering fans can relate to the Super Bowl.

We all know Mckinnie can be great but he did eat his self out of a job. And it was in his best interest to get out of here. The Vikings were in a big rebuilding mode and still are. Getting rid of him instead of getting him motivated to be great again set the Vikings back 2 years. They had to replace him with Kalil and could have used that pick for a super receiver or great Qb. The coaches should have pushed the weight off of him. What the Vikings should do now is look for the same type of player, meaning a player who needs a change of scenery to become motivated again. There are tons of big time players who are so comfortable where they are at that they aren't playing up to their ability. And why is that? They got the big bucks now and don't need to bust their you know what anymore but if they get cut, man would you see a complete change in how hard they will play. They will either play harder or retire one or the other. That is what happened to Mckinnie. He had no motivation to be in shape.

It's too bad it takes some guys so long to learn and grow up.

Terrible choice, root for Moss to get a ring or McKinnie. Maybe I will watch of rerun of something.

That was a horrible analysis of McKinnie and his VIkings release. He was a complete waste of space who had been a horrible Viking off the field, and rarely a great one on it. No work ethic at all. Lazy and unable to play by any rules. The VIkes should have sent him packing in 2010. The fact that they purged him then shows a thoughtful management mindset. Kalil is superior in every way imagineable. 2011 was a clean out the trash season. 2012 saw the results of a successful purge and replace. Had the kept the overweight tackle, they would now be scratching their head over how to replace him. NOt the position you want to be in. They will handle Loadholt differently as he is still improving and deserving of a new deal. This line is becoming a force to be reckoned with in the NFL. One of the top 5 best lines in the game.

I'm torn. I'd really like Birk to get a ring, too bad that would mean McKinnie getting one too. Come on Bryant you have a couple days left, get kicked off of this team like you did the pro bowl team a few years back.

Quite honestly I would rather see McKinnie get a ring than Moss. It would be the lesser of two evils. If the Niners win they will have to get Moss a helmet two sizes bigger!

In response to dch6859: Man you love bashing the Vikes for anything. You have managed to put a Negetive spin on everything that the Team, or players have done. Have read your blogs, and even though the Vikes went from 3-13 to 10-7, you still manage a way to find the smallest bad, in a season of good . For you to be sarcastic about Frazier getting rid of McKinnie is laughable. Did you even see McKinnie play, in his last 2 seasons for the Vikes??? Do you remember "EL Matador's" blocking???[If you could call getting out of a 3 point stance, and standing up, blocking]. This guy put on 40 lbs. and went from a pro-bowl LT, to a guy that could hardly make it through a practice. If I remember correctly, this was going on while he was the 3rd highest paid LT in the league. You are actually going to put a negetive spin on the Team's decision to what I would call, "Trimming the Fat"??? Really? Smells like someone might have a green/yellow cheese fetish. GO VIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do I actually believe Mckinnie? Nope. If Ravens will the SuperBowl, you can be sure he'll make the news for something of foul play. This guy will be filing for bankruptcy in less than 5 years! I'll put money on it.

amazing how many people can be so angry at someone they're essentially rooting for him not to become more mature or more professional and are blatanly hoping for his life to fall into ruin, all because he no longer plays for the local team. american exceptionalism....
