Survivors may get to keep a piece of fallen bridge

State transportation officials are working on a plan to allow survivors and other groups to have memorial pieces of the Interstate 35W bridge before the steel is sold for scrap.

I think you either open it up to everyone or not to anyone. Maybe sell it to those interested. Make some money off of it before selling the rest as scrap.

To each his own I suppose and I wish the families of those that died in the collapse some peace but that piece of metal whether on the mantel or shot with holes in the backyard won't bring their lost loved one back any more than my getting a chunk of the diseased tissue that killed my daughter will bring her back.
