My daughter was lucky enough to get a spot in the 4th grade program at FAIR Crystal this year and it has been NOTHING but a godsend to her and our family. She is not only excited about going to school again, but she is THRIVING in an environment that truly allows for acceptance and diversity. I have, on a few occasions, been privileged enough to hear Principal Kevin J. Bennett speak about FAIR School and it's commitment to education, our children, and the community and it saddens me that the negative attention this brings will and already has done more damage to WMEP and our children's future than necessary.

my daughter has been going to Fair Downtown since second grade and is now in sixth grade. She loves it!! Kevin Bennett is a great principal. HE has helped our family in numerous situations. He is fair, understanding and cares greatly about his students that attend the crystal and downtown school. If he was having an affair that is his personal affair and issue as a man. As a principal he has done great things there. I would recommend this school to anone looking. My daughter has done nothing but thrive there. They have great support from businesses in the area. I hope what ever the matter is that is going on it gets resolved and Bennett is able to continue his leadership there at fair.

As a former employee of FAIR, I am saddened by this news only for the sake of the kids. I think it is a shame that what people do in their personal lives has to affect the kids in such a way, by a teacher resigning and such. It is equally a shame that it happened in the first place. I do feel that FAIR's philosophy and programs they offer are very beneficial for kids. However, there is a lot of stuff that goes on behind the scenes that I do not feel is fair to staff. This is definitely one of them - not fair to the kids or other staff members, parents, etc. who have to try to save face and defend this school. FAIR has a constant turnover of teachers, either who are fired or choose to resign. In order to establish good relationships with students and address the many behavioral concerns that are seen at FAIR (trust me, there are a lot, causing many teachers to leave I believe), the WHOLE staff needs to be valued more, not just certain teachers. I personally left on my own accord, but I have seen many other talented teachers fired for no reason. I believe in FAIR's mission and I hope that they don't shut down, but a lot of changes need to be made for them to be effective.
