"Let's encase them all in hermetically sealed kevlar bubble wrap." .................. Indeed! Back in the day, when owatonnabill was but a wee preschooler in Silver Bay, MN, "day care" for about half the kids on the block was a female collie named (of course) Lassie. Lassie would literally ride herd over a group of about 6 or so of us, and if any kid crossed the sidewalk toward the street or strayed beyond the neighbor's driveway, Lassie would drag us gently back into the yard by the seat of our pants. Don't think she was licensed, but her credentials and work history were impeccable.
