To hit or not: Even offensive players wondering what's ahead for pro football

Today the NFL is already a flag football game. The root cause of the problem is all the protective gear the players are allowed to wear. As safety is more and more of an issue athletic protective gear gets better and better. Today players are big fast missles. My suggetion to make the game safer is make em wear the old leather helmets with no face guards, make the field bigger and go back to limited substitution. BUT it will never happen because the fans like the violent hits and the owners are a greedy bunch.
