US consumer confidence dropped to lowest level in more than a year, hurt by higher taxes

WASHINGTON - An increase in Social Security taxes is leaving Americans with less take-home pay — and a more negative outlook for the U.S. economy.

I say this is GREAT NEWS! The best I have heard in the last six months. If people now know that their income is falling, then they may stop spending and try to save some money. This country needs more capital and less spending that will put people in big debt.
