Night-shift workers are at risk for health issues

Working when the sun doesn’t shine can have serious side effects for about 20 percent of those on the night shift.

Correlation and causation are not the same. Just because there seems to be a higher level, doesn't mean there truly is. Do these people also have family history? We aren't all wired for the same schedule. Some people can't deal with day work. They are better and more focused at night while some are better during the day. Left handed people have a shorter life expectancy too...and men live longer than women. Should we all change sex and become the hand that will live longer?
