Twins fan and local activist Mike (Sammy) Samuelson dies

On Friday night, Mike (Sammy) Samuelson spoke to several hundred people gathered at the Nicollet Island Pavilion for an annual baseball banquet put on by a number of his friends. He received a lifetime achievement award and was subjected to some of the heckling that he routinely dished out over the years.

R.I.P. Mike (Sammy) Samuelson. Condolences to his family. My only question, with all proper respect to the man, is: Did Gardy give him his nickname?

@sane09 - I knew Sammy since 1982. He was Sammy back then.

Thanks, Hughster...It just looked like a Gardy nickname (Blackie, Butey, Spanny, Cuddy, Pavy, Frankie..ad ifinitum)
