Amnesty III was a better Pharo than this bill. He never promoted accepting 20+ million law breakers, or ignored the economic future of those citizens and legal immigrants he was actually charged with protecting. These lawmakers could learn something from basic concepts of our society they seem to be abandoning in favor of corporatist profits and party advancement. We can tell the difference.
If 20 million of us just choose to stop paying our taxes... oh, for 25 years or so... will they eventually pass sweeping tax reform... and grant us all
amnesty? We wouldn't want to have to live in constant fear of prosecution, now would we?
I am glad to hear who voted for this, so I know who to rally against next election.
Details of the bill aside, it's just refreshing to hear that there was bipartisan agreement on 'something'. Most of what is shared seems logical. If they can't agree on something for immigration they'll never figure SS out so get this done and move on! There are a lot if issues that need tackling.
Wow, a group of elected officials acting like adults, go figure.
I guess all it takes for Republicans to start acting like human beings is for them to realize that election results are at stake. Disingenuous, yes, but for those of us who have friends and neighbors who are affected by this issue, at least it's something.
Most illegal immigration would probably be stopped if employers were cracked down on. There's a tacit nod-and-wink. A vast majority wouldn't be here if they couldn't get work. But gee, we sure hate to inconvenience businessfolk.
25 million criminals not being granted citizenship, voting rights, free health , welfare, housing and education rights? Plus, the ability to bring their entire families in adding another 100 million in 5-10 years? We can support that many third worlders? do we really want Mexico II ? Mccain is a fool if he thinks this will get even ONE Republican elected. Why sell out those of us who have to pay for all of this?

What part of Illegal don't you understand. it is disgusting to me that BOTH parties are willing to do more damage to our country just because it will buy them votes. BUYING VOTES, that is the ONLY thing that BOTH parties are concerned about. Never mind that Unemployment for Citizens is 7.8%. Can't find a job, write or call your representative and ask why they care more about the votes of illegals than they do about you!
This couldn't be funnier . The regressives can at least recognize a sinking ship but this is to little to late . It's like all the hate they have directed in every directions, those directions will come back to haunt them. You can't blame them for all Americans problems and expect them to support your insanity. They're toast spelled with a big T.
