It wasn't one play but the whole game. The Badgers played awful but the Gophers played even worse. This team has great talent but no heart and it lacks leadership and coaching.

The team actually had some motion on offense but couldn't make a shot. The refs were brutal.

It's always the refs with Minnesota sports.

First I would like to say the Goph's were awful again. No offense, can't shot free throws, I can go on and on. But, violations are called by the sound of the buzzer, not the clock and such a violation is not reviewable according to the NCAA rule book. If you look at the replay the ball is still in Jacksons hand when the clock turns zero, but out of his hand whent the buzzer went off a second later. It does not make sense that the buzzer is a second after the clock turns zero. Is that just a WISC. or and same at all places?

I would rather the Gophers learn now not to take lesser opponents for granted, then in the dance. Hopefully this will be a wake up call.

For BCanniff and others who keep saying "this team has great talent" ... they do not have great talented players! Where do you see all of this talent? Sure, Rodney Williams has talent, but he doesn't have a clue on what to do with it! He simply does not know how to play basketball. After four years, one would sort of expect that his performance would have improved year by year, but it hasn't. Andre H. is talented, sure, but he is still young.....some sophomores on other schools are already playing like they are seniors...why don't the Gopher players ever improve that way? Mbakwe is talented, sure, but again, he doesn't have a shot he can rely on....only points he makes are putbacks or slams. I take that back...he did make a somewhat baby hookshot yesterday. Plus he is another of the terrible ball handlers on this team. Austin H. has talent, but he probably wouldn't be starting on most other good teams in the Big10. He simply doesn't show up at times...how can one be so good, as they say he is, and not be a solid contributor every single game? Joe Coleman? Not even sure you can call him talented. He is another person who doesn't have a clue what being a BB player is all about. After playing BB as long as he has how can he be such a terrible ball handler or shooter? I mean, doesn't he ever practice shooting? The bench? I don't know. There is no one particularly talented on the bench. No, this team is certainly not more talented than previous teams....plus, they don't have any scorers/shooters other the two Hollins. Maybe a lot of their shortcomings could have been improved on if they had had any decent coaching! In my humble opinion, their biggest problem is a lack of coaching!!!

@rdilley, you are so right. The basketball IQ on this team is very low. Rodney can jump and dunk and that is the bottom line, thats it. Coleman same thing. These guys don't have a clue how to play the game the right way. The top 5 teams in the B1G all our starters would be on the bench with except perhaps Trevor and maybe Dre.

To sidhartmann it was the Gophers play down the stretch that was brutal. I do not understand the wisdom of all the standing around until the shot clock get down to the last 5 seconds or so and then try to get a quality shot. For pete's sake play to win, instead of playing not to lose.

This has gone on long enough. Teague has to step in now, in order to have a chance at some top level high school juniors in this state, and dismiss Tubby. Let it be known that Flip Saunders is being sought after, which might convince some of the NBA bound recruits to actually consider Minnesota.

We are as competent at changing coaches at Minnesota as the players are at playing. What mistifies me is how these young men can be given scholarships at great schools, fine coaching and all the supports in the world and show so little on the court. Western PA has produced great athletes for years and I think it has to do with character and work ethic. Ever heard of Marino, Ditka, Frenz, Namath, Musual, Judge Dickson, Bill Muncey, Sanford Stephens? Wow, three of them played for MN.
