Volkswagen's hybrid Jetta racks up mpg

According to EPA ratings, the Jetta Hybrid should achieve 42 mpg in the city and 48 on the highway.

That's not much extra mileage for the $5,000 premium. You can buy a lot a gas with that. Plus, the resale value on these hybrid electrics tends not to be too good.
