Aw cmon james, Beeks was mediocre at best. Everyone in that part of town is probably thinking the same thing.. it only takes one match to cash out.

I have early memories of there being a Beek's Pizza in my hometown of Shakopee back in the late-60's or early-70's. Still had siblings who traveled down to this location just to enjoy the pizza they grew up with. Hopefully the shop can re-open at a new location -- it would be a shame to see a piece of history slip away just like that. And for the love of God, let's hope a Domino's doesn't open up on the same location in a new building -- talk about your scene from Poltergeist......!!!

Best Pizza on the planet! Grew up just a short distance from the Lyndale location... lots of childhood memories up in smoke! I live far in the southern Suburbs but still have to make a monthly trip to get my Beek's fix! Often time's it would be the Lyndale location to take back home... often times to St.Louis Park to dine in. I sure hope they can re-build. In the mean time.. I still plan on making trips to the St.Louis Park location!

About a decade ago a developer wanted to rebuild that entire block with retail below and apartments above. The building owner of Beeks would have none of it (even if Beeks were part of the plan). the rumor was that the billboards on top of the old rundown building paid very well and that the new building would not be allowed them...so they never sold, nor modernized the place...and thus, with no sprinkler system the building burned. Sometimes fighting progress costs you more than you bargained for.
