RIP Stan the Man. Never a scandal, never a cross word, always the gentleman. What a contrast to the average current athletes.

Fond memories of being down on the farm in the '50's with my Grandfather listening to the Cardinals and Stan the Man on the radio. Another of the "Greatest Generation" that earned the appellation.

I watched the entire funeral and procession after to Busch Stadium. It was a beautiful mass complete with great ulogies, especially by Bob Costas. I wish the younger generation could know, the depth of this man, not just as a ballplayer but as a human being.
