That paragraph about the Chateau is priceless. It's one of the most memorable series of sentences I've read in the Strib in a long time. Great work, Mr. Lileks.

Agreed, a perfect description of The Chateau, which is a deliciously ironic name as well. My first thought upon hearing the news was that the new building was out-of-character but that the aesthetic preservation horse had long ago left the barn when they built that thing! Call me if you need someone to take a shift on the Al's Breakfast barricade.

Oh, and please, PLEASE don't make it look like every other freakin new mixed-use building! Do they all have to look alike? They're so pervasive I could design them in my sleep.
