How about having the Pohlad's open their wallet and pay for some real players to compete now, rather than hope for prospects in the future when they will likely say they need the money for ball park renovations. The fans and tax payers did their part, why won't the front office even try? The Twins front office blamed the Dome for years, and got exactly what they asked for; outdoor baseball. In return they gave the fans last place. Shouldn't the fans expect more than this?

Doesn't he say that every year? "Back to Basics" is pretty much the same as "Fundamentals" which this organization likes to tout a lot. Expect more of the same.

What about that great offense you put on the field every day Gardy? For goodness sake- score some runs! Tell Pohlad to open up the pocket book and put some real players on the field not a load of Double AA wannna bees.

Lindy... couldn't agree with you more. Same crap out of Gardenhire's mouth every-year. If I remember correctly didn't Sid write a few month's ago that Butera would not be back with the Twins? I think all Sid's close personal sources are playing him.....just like Ryan and Gardenhire do every year trying to hype the fan-base into believing this is the year. It would have been a much greater Twins-Fest hype had this column been introducing the new skipper.....

I get so sick of reading Gardenhire's rhetoric, like "getting after it", "catching the ball better", and why not add "running around alot out there". Just shut up and let them play, and let the players decide when to swing and when to take, and cut the "pitching to contact" philosophy.
