NASA testing vintage engine left over from Apollo 11 rocket to improve for future missions

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Like vinyl records and skinny ties, good things eventually come back around. At NASA, that means looking to the Apollo program for ideas on how to develop the next generation of rockets for future missions to the moon and beyond.

This is, hands down, the coolest thing in the news this week. My mind is blown. If you raise my taxes by $100 this year and send it straight to NASA, I will gladly pay it. Let's invent something new, cool, amazing and inspiring.

As someone who was around for Apollo 11, this does my heart good. MAN, did those Saturn V engines rumble! Maybe those young whipper-snapper rocket scientists will learn a thing or two!!! ;)

I wasn't born during the heyday of the Apollo era, but I never got tired of seeing the Space Shuttles blast off time and time again. We need something to get behind again, to bring America together and have pride in.
