REVIEW: The fabled Figlio name has returned -- in pink neon, naturally -- with different ownership, a new location and a similar semi-Italian accent.

I wish they would put the fennel back into the Zitti, like it had originally

The original Figlio's always had pretty average food, the draw was the happy hour and location. Stuck in Uptown? Hungry? "Hey, let's go to Figlio's, maybe we can get a spot outside". The new one has, well, below average food... and overpriced at that. And without the Calhoun square location. Not surprised to see the ownership is the same as Crave. Our service was pretty below average as well. Nice woman, but noticeably slow and inattentive, and this coming from someone who is easy when it comes to service. If I'm at West End I'd rather go to Rojo or across the interstate to Good Day / Bad Day Cafe, or the lounge in the movie theater. Haven't tried the sushi place yet. Honestly I'd say even if you're feeling nostalgic, the new Figlio is not worth checking out.

I wonder how the owners of this place can open so many new restaurants - Figlio's, Union, Crave - must be nice to have money to pump into any new restaurant venture you like. I suppose it helps that the food is always mediocre, over priced and people are more than willing to hand over their money at such places - I ate at the new Union restaurant and it was over priced and very average food - I'll pass on Figlio's.

I love Figlio's at the Uptown location at happy hour. Good food at a reasonable price too. The new one at West End is always packed. You cannot move. I did see a couple of old alumni from time to time at the new Figlio's. LOL!
