What a bunch of hooey. Dayton promised to increase taxes on the rich and what is he proposing? He proposed a small tax increase on the rich and a big, big tax increase on working families. While the sales tax may drop to 5.5% under his plan, all kinds of new things will be taxed. Need legal services? That will be taxed. Need a haircut? That will be taxed. Need a good winter coat that happens to cost more than $100, that will be taxed. Need your tax return prepared? That will be taxed. When all is said and done, Dayton will not increase taxes much on the rich -- but he will soak the working families. Read my lips Dayton: you lied, lied, lied. Am I sorry I voted for you?

Do Democrats have any ideas other than going after those who decide to do something with their lives? Just returned from California where I witnessed not one but two of our youth paying for fast food with food stamps. This is what we are supporting, can someone tell me why??

Who says the liberal democrats aren't the 'tax and spend' party? This is outrageous, even by Minnesota standards. Millions in democrat payoffs to the teachers' unions, university fat cats, and millions more to be wasted on ineffective social programs. New flash for Dayton: we ALREADY have some of the highest education spending in country. All this is, is a payoff to his union buddies that helped get him and his now-liberal legislature elected. Hold on to your wallets, you're going to get a lot poorer with this government. This is what you get when you elect liberals across the board. Way to go, Minnesota.

A lot of the education spending and infrastructure spending is better done with federal money. The trouble with these proposals is they really do lead to millionaires moving out of state, Sioux Falls, anyone? It's called race to the bottom, in case you were wondering.

Dayton cautioned against overreaching and produced a budget that punishes lower, middle and upper class taxpayers equally. Dayton has an uncanny ability to self-destruct his political career. First his Senate career vanishes and now his one-term Governor position. Voters will remember the sales taxes on clothing tax for the rest of their lives.

More wealth redistribution, more Socialism, less personal responsibility and less freedom. Yes folks the money you earned from your own labor is your "property" so when the government takes more of it your freedom is subsequently less. We have a spending problem and not a taxing problem in this country but then we've passed the tipping point. Does your freedom others sacrificed to make possible for you mean so little to so many of you that you'd chuck it away and for future generations for your next government "Goodie"? Apparently so.

Because liberals HATE success. They just do. Its really that simple. They are the most petty, envious, jealous people to ever walk the earth. They think that they deserve whatever you make no matter how hard you worked for it or how little they worked. You owe them...they feel entitled. Its really sad and pathetic if you ask me.

The free ride for the fat cat has begun in Minnesota and across the country. Heres one for Minnesota -----Tax the “income” some workers get in the form of employer contributions to their health insurance and pension plans. Retrieve $3 billion to the budget a year. This break goes to those fortunate enough to have jobs with benefits – at the collective expense of less fortunate workers. Way over 90% goes to the top couple of percentage points of income earners.
