Pretty amazing that many have been coerced into believing that we humans have the power to make adjustments to the temperature of an entire planet.

Glad Obama is engaged on this critical issue. World population has passed 7.1 billion. We burn seven billion tons of coal per year. More than 1,000 new coal plants are planned. Globally, we burn 90.1 million barrels of oil each day, 32 trillion barrels per year. The continuing increase in fossil fuel consumption will result in “a long-term average global temperature increase of 3.6 degrees C,” according to the 2012 edition of World Energy Outlook. Most scientists believe an increase of 2 degrees Celsius is about all the planet can accommodate without catastrophic consequences. An increase of 3.6 degrees C essentially suggests the unthinkable.
