What did they expect him to say about being in an attack helicopter? That he was just along for the ride? If he declined to answer the question their headline would be "What's Harry covering up?" It's little wonder that people like him detest the media. They don't care anything about the war. They either want to portray people as cowards or killers.
Maybe he should have told them "I have no desire to share such information with any of you." Surely the media, but sometimes the illumaries themselves, make this look like a game. It is bewildering. Human nature is bewildering. Life is, too.
This is stupid. What - do they think he's flying sightseeing tours or something? He's a soldier in a combat zone fighting a war. They should be proud he did his part to fight world terrorism. I wish he had killed every Taliban fighter there is.
Those who declare war are seldom in it. It has become too easy for leaders to send people off to war, and too convenient for us in the West to see it as a game. And it's all being wrapped up neatly and called "Patriotism". B.S. I say. What we've seen since 911 has been vengeance whipped up with Nationalism. Nationalism has been the cause of the majority of 20th century wars. It was started in WWI, with that imperialistic war being fought over control and influence of client states and colonies, which to the Great Powers were nothing more than sources of raw materials, and markets.
Now even today, we see the US being dragged into many conflicts, with the justification being to protect US interests. Just whose interests are being protected in these far off lands? Yours, mine? No. It is the interests of the corporations that have investments in these countries. THAT is who these wars are being fought for.
Jolly good, old chap.
