The anticipated backlash and fan resistance to hockey's return has been muffled at best in this market.

Sure lets boycott concessions because that will effect the players and owners...please. The only people you effect by doing so are the ones that were hurt the most by the lockout in the first place. Way to hold strong though.

While it sucked that lockouts in general happen, I become ambivalent to them. I find something else to do with my time, until the lockout ends. I have found myself wrapped up in the Wild frenzy. My wife and I hit up the 50% off discount at the Wild store. What a great promotion! I just hope the Wild can sustain great play throughout the season!

What all these pieces miss is that had the Wild not been successful in acquiring Parise and Suter prior to the lockout, fans would most certainly have stayed away. If they had gone into a 48 game season with last season's lineup....forget it. The 'boycott' most definitely would have been on but hockey fans were excited when the Wild acquired two superstar free agents last summer and the thought that they could actually be a really good team this season was too much to resist.

I never really got over the loss of the North Stars. That was much worse than the lock-out.Maybe we were a little more prepared.I still wanted to boycott, but missed the game to much.We finally have a team, that makes me care less about the Stars. Thanks!

Now let's get the old Norris Division back too! St. Louis Blues, Detriot Redwings, Chicago Blackhawks, MN WILD! Cause playing Vancouver, Calgary and Colorado makes almost zero sense to me.

I'm sure that some (the bandwagon jumpers) might be boycotting the games, but IMO there are lot of fans of hockey who are just happy that the Wild are playing again!

Saturday looked like some exciting hockey headed our way. Sunday had about 12-15 minutes of what looked like effort. If we can expect this all (abbreviated) season I will be VERY disappointed. Almost as disappointed as I was in my $9.25 Budweiser.

I love hockey, but at these prices anyone that attends a Wild game relinquishes their right to complain about the economy.
