Craig Leipold is a superfan who hangs on the edge of his seat with every shift. He's also a businessman who wants to see a reward for his financial risk.

You can thank Chuck Fletcher, for his drafting, free agent pickups, and coach/personel staff he has assembled.. Best G.M. in town.. IMO

I can see why he paid all that cash to Parise. The man never quits. He is a great addition. It is tougher to judge Suter but so far he has not exactly stood out. But all in all Leipold should be happy. Without these signings, I wonder if the X would have been sold out.

dirtydogs...Suter is not the type of player that is going to stand out or be flashy. Take a look at his +/- at the end of the year and the number of assists he will have. That will tell you all you need to know about him. He is as stable as they get at the blue line. Parise, PMB, Koivu, and Heatly can be flashy and score goals, Clutterbuck can hit the snot out of people, Knopka is going to protect Parise, PMB, Koivu, Heatly, etc, and Suter is going to quietly go about his business.

Suter, quietly, racks up 25 minutes of ice time. Don't watch him with the puck. Watch him without it. Watch him use his body to cut off an attacker. Watch his outlet pass hit a player in stride and clear the zone with ease. In this 48 game sprint, he might get 25 points. But, it is the other stuff that makes him great and helps us win.

Suter is solid and a top-20 defensemen. I'd much rather have had his defensive partner Shea Weber, but so would 99.9% of fans/GMs.

top 20? Suter is a top 10 defenseman for sure, if not top 5, in the entire league.

You buy team for 300m, 400m or whatever. U have debt. Does your income stream cover your expenses? Do u make any profit while u own team? Do u lose money? Do u make a profit when u sell team? I suppose being a team owner is a very rare experience for the select chose few?

Maybe Leipold and Fletcher should take their Wild strategy across the river to Twinkieville and show the Pohlad clan how to generate real interest in a sports team by signing a couple of quality players instead of just using a new PUBLIC FUNDED stadium as a crutch.

They haven't won anything, yet. Yet alone make it to the playoffs. As I recall they don't handout the Stanly Cup after 2 games and in that matter after two months, see last year.

Scoggins keep kissing up to the owner maybe even better seats than your free ones already. The owner CHOSE to sign these two players and then CHOSE to plead poor me. I am a die hard Wild fan but no fan of the owner no matter who he does or does not sign.He is a hypocitce no matter how you try and paint him as a wonderful owner. PS He makes plenty of money.
