Injuries slowed the two Gophers starters against Michigan, and they'll be vital to stay in the Big Ten race.

"The team also has committed 19 more turnovers than their opponents in Big Ten games. If they could have kept that under control, who knows, they might be unbeaten".....IF!..IF! Turnovers are NOT BAD LUCK!..GOOD teams turn-over BAD teams because THEY are good and the BAD team is BAD!

Hudson is the defensive coordinator that was on the sidelines when that 31-7 meltdown occured in the dome against Michigan. Oh yeh, sid he really knows how to make adjustments.

I mentioned last week that Sid keeps saying to the Gopher's coaches, I know you can't say anything about the referees or you will be fined or sanctioned.Well, On yesterdays Sports Huddle Sid achieved his goal as Tubby told us that the ref made a horrible call. Nice job Sid.

Information about Williams and Coleman was disappointing. I assumed Smith was finally seeing the light and playing Eliason and Mbakwe together to improve their defense at the rim. The Gophers problem is they allow lay up after lay up.

It sounds like tubby doesn't want to use injuries as an excuse. Why should he, when he's got you doing it for him.

Seems to me that the turnovers are so high in part due to the absolute struggle it is finding a man open in Tubbys half court offense. We just look clueless sometimes compared to our foes. We don't set our picks as well and are too often taking desperate shots. Too much standing around. Not getting our 7 footer involved in scoring. He doesn't need to be out at the top of the key on defense either.

Tubby won't complain about injuries. Instead he'll just ask me to do it for him via my column.

Yeah, right..."we are working on the turnover problem in practice"....I would assume they have been working on that problem for going on now, what, 4 years? Never seems to get any better. Why is that? Sid, this team simply is not that good and they most certainly will not challenge for the title! Now, if NW is hitting their shots early, the Gophers will be doomed from the start in that game. Wisconsin? Sorry, but Gophs have nary a chance in that game either. Sorry to be a spoil-sport, but our Gophers are simply not a great team. Like I have said before, talent on the UM campus does not equate to the talent on the other campuses. Most players recruited by Tubby are those that are not wanted by other schools. There are some exceptions, of course (Dre Hollins) but, as a rule, we get no better than lower-tier players. Will probably never change. Besides, Coach Tubby is not that great of a coach.

Sid, if the Wilfs build their own stadium they can have whatever dimensions they want, if they want state money they have to make concessions.
