How sad. Let me guess, "guns don't kill people, people kill people"? If the majority of people in this country do not change their thinking on the present gun laws, these horrible tragedies, committed by people with guns, will only continue to get worse.

Let me guess, he came from a broken home and\or with issues. Society\community is failing. 50 years ago you could order guns from a catalog with none of these shootings going on. Guns have always been around but these shootings haven't. Something is wrong with mental health, happiness, and being content with what you have in this country. Pressure from all directions on the middle class have something to do with it along with 50% divorce rate. Put the fear of God back in these kids.

Put the fear of God back in these kids. = NO!! Put the fear of the electorate into Congress and get something done about the easy access to guns that hold 30+ rounds, AND easy access to all types of guns.

Semi automatics from a catalog? Doubtful. Oh yea, there wasn't child and spouseial abuse 50'yrs ago. Give me a break. Hope the next victim of gun abuse isn't someone you love.

Let me guess: He failed a background check. He was a lifetime member of NRA. He purchased the "military-style assault weapons" with left-over lunch money. He voted Republican. He was "a good boy". He came from a wealthy white family. Am I missing anything?

I agree that something MUST be done about the killing going on and congress and the "president" must act to stop this madness. Since 1973 over 50 million children have been killed by firearms. Oh, wait, that wasn't due to firearms, that was due to abortions. Are you anti firearm nuts outraged by that number of deaths? I didn't think so.

Gun-nutz now blame everything on a "God-less" culture. Yeah, because you know that Jesus would have been an NRA nut-job opposed to all reasonable measures to reduce gun violence.

RE:...Gun-nutz now blame everything on a "God-less" culture. Yeah, because you know that Jesus would have been an NRA nut-job opposed to all reasonable measures to reduce gun violence.....Let's say all guns are gone, you will still have the violence and the deaths by different method, now what to blame. Again, identify and fix the root problem causing kids to go nuts....Now what to do about all these kids getting murdered in the womb...

i love how it has to state that there was a "military-style assault rifle" and you loons jump on and assume that was the gun he used. what if he had two 7-round magazines or a six shot revolver with a speed loader? you don't know crap about what happened and you jump to conclusions. you know nothing about how this kid obtained the weapons, only that he had them. chances are they were purchased legally and through appropriate means. maybe he met one of holders straw buyers and obtained them? who knows. i have many weapons inside my house including, gulp, a scary looking black long gun with 20 and 30-round magazines and multiple semi-auto handguns. nope, nobody died today from my guns, but 2,000 unborn children were murdered by the hands of people that you support! hypocrites, all of you!

@ tbot2000 You doubt it? Why don't you just google 1900's Sears and Roebuck Catalog. I found dozens and dozens of semiautomatic handguns for sale via catalog. in your case a little knowledge can be a very dangerous thing.
